Land, science, and story — the same practice, three ways

I'm an entrepreneur, plant pathologist, author, and photographer working at the intersection of land, science, and story.

My family has been in land development and citrus in Central Florida for three generations. Alongside that work, I've spent years building tools and organizations for scientific research — I designed some of the first crowd-sourced data collection and cloud platforms for citrus research in the late 1990s, helped organize and fund independent research initiatives, and currently collaborate with the University of Florida on an artificial intelligence project studying citrus rootstock.

When I'm not in the grove or the lab, I'm usually on a trail. I travel often to hiking destinations, and I keep a working photography practice — a selection of that work lives at Panotracks.
